10 feet later one of the kids friend swam up to the kid. He finally blew his whistle once I yelled stop because my daughter and I was trapped in between the water splashes. I didn't have a chance to make it over to the other side, but through the windows we saw a pretty large pool. Staff is nice, especially compared to Mt Scott.I used to lap swim here about 2-3 times a week. I found the staff friendly and helpful from the beginning and let me go see the pool after answering some questions. I did like that they had water classes going on so that was nice. I've had them at a few different pools around town and after having them here I've gotta say WOW; great job;)Clean, helpful, lots of classes and space and the pool is nice. Taking 1 star off for the showers. The pool is just a Extreamly cheap knock off of Mount Scot's pool! It's wonderful! The 2002 Levy provided funding for its construction. It's perfectly fine with two per lane, but there was a time when there was four, and it was just horrible. In walking through there, one might see daycare services, a children's summer camp, ESL, Chinese, and Russian language classes, guitar lessons, Tai Chi classes and more. The center is kept clean and in good repair. It is such a great part of the community here and provides so many quality services and swimming without interruption and a friend told me to check out this center.I love the East Portland Community Center. I wish the pool was self-funding, and not an additional cost for people who never use it.Nice pool. The Northeast Community Center is an independent non-profit COMMUNITY center in Portland's Hollywood neighborhood in a building with a rich History of active use. this whole entire time we didn't have any staff members or life guards approach us. The only thing that's nice about it is the staff! I stated that I didn't use profanity until they repeatedly kept calling me a b word. ), and several rooms where a variety of programming is offered. Its a safe, fun place for children and families. My husband and I bought a membership for our family, and couldn't wait to go on the water slide. The life guards where doing a good job. Me being the person I am, I voiced my opinion. She was freaked out. The gym is pretty good and not over crowded it has everything you need to get in and stay in shape. They have plenty of lockers, about 8 showers I think, and a lap pool of 5 lanes.. or was it 6... Anyways, I love this place when it isn't packed with people, so I get a good, peaceful workout, which is worth for $4.25. It's a little ways from home but the instructors are great. We thought that the pool and gym would be a great way for our family to get some exercise and have some fun. I finally said something to one of the life guards that was standing right in front but didn't say a dang thing. East Portland Community Center is an amazing local resource - the center itself is huge, and there's always a thing - or five - going on. Contact the business for more information about recent service changes.Claim your business to immediately update business information, respond to reviews, and more!Find more Community Centers near East Portland Community Center The ability to purchase a month's access pass was just what I was looking for. Highly disappointed in the whole facility! The folks at the front desk have always been friendly. The place is clean and easy to use. We tried on three occasions to enjoy ourselves at the pool, because we loved the slide, but even my children were too cold. It wasn't worth it without the pool.Other than that it is a nice clean facility. Unfortunately tonight, I wasn't very impressed. The pool schedule will definitely work for me. Includes Oh one more thing! I love the instructors, especially Maureen, who is always positive and upbeat. eventually one of the kids with them separated it up. What a treasure tucked away here in the southeast side.Good price for workin out. The East Portland Community Center is expected open by the end of the week as a women-only shelter to relieve space issues at two existing shelters. If you have children under eight you can not leave them (even right next to you in the shallow end) to warm up in the hot tub. My main request is that they offer childcare while the parent is taking a class or exercising.the welcome staff there was helpful and nice. Check times for activities before heading out.We were here for a wedding reception. My daughter is only two. !I have been going to the water aerobics classes for about a year and a half, and use the water walking track also. Learn more. Both of my kids have been supported and encouraged to push themselves to grow. It is just too cold to ever get comfortable. The staff didn't seem like they were doing much the people took it into their own hands... the police was called. one of my friends handled the situation very well and told hem we didn't have a problem. As I continued to swim with my daughter, I then ran into those boys again.. this time they were picking on another two kids.. one of the teen boys from earlier that was splashing water came up to the teen and tugged him under water while the kids little sister saw him do that to his brother. Staff are friendly and professional.
