Save the world. That's totally dropped in this novel with regard to the protagonist, though there are badly done elements of it cropping up elsewhere. This installment sold me on the series. I love her writting as well as the plot and the setting.

I have to admit compared to Ally Carter's Gallagher Girls and Heist Society books; the Embassy Row is a bit slower but just as much adventure, murder and mayhem happening.

Her motivation in this book is clearly to save her brother's life by sacrificing herself, but that doesn't seem to satisfy the Society, as it wants to extinguish the bloodline before a potential overthrow of the current system that it has spent 200 years maintaining. I will admit when I read book one I was not totally sold on the series.
